SUBJECT: OIL HOSE FITTINGS ON TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER MODELS 107, 124, 126 AND 201 WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MODEL YEARS 1985 AND 1986

FIGURE 1 - COLLAR NUT:

On the above mentioned vehicles with alloy cross flow radiators, the oil cooler fittings are secured to the radiator with aluminum collar nuts (a, Figure 1).
These aluminum collar nuts should be replaced with nuts and washers or collar nuts made of steel, according to the table on page 2.

NOTE: As of the end of March 1986 production, a steel collar nut is used.

We recommend that every vehicle being serviced or repaired is visually inspected. If the oil cooler fittings are secured with aluminum nuts, they should be replaced with the steel type.

NOTE: Remove and replace one retaining nut at a time to reduce possible leakage.
