SUBJECT: SEAT BELT EXTENDER SWITCH MODEL 380/500 SEC
A switch can be installed in the above-mentioned models to give customers an option to manually deactivate the seat belt extender. The switch with the pertinent wiring harness can be installed in either side panel adjacent to the rear seat, to affect the driver's or the passenger's belt extender. The attached Work Instructions, No. 158, provide the necessary information to fabricate and install the necessary harness(es). It should be noted that two harnesses are required if it is desired to modify both driver's and passenger's side of the car.
Please emphasize to your customer that this shut-off feature for the seat belt extender does not affect the level of safety provided by the seat belt when worn.
