Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation:





- Disarm SRS system if equipped and remove steering wheel and air bag.
- Disconnect line (58) and remove from rubber sleeve in impact absorber (73).
- Screw out torx head screws (75) and remove contact bridges (57).
- Remove triangular springs (74).

NOTE: The insulating plates (arrows) should remain in the impact absorber (73).

- Unscrew phillips screw (71).
- Remove oval head screws (66) from steering wheel (9).
- Remove impact absorber (73).
- Disconnect plug connector (55).
- Remove slip ring (70) from steering wheel (9).

Installation is reverse of removal.
