Test Step #5 - Speed Sensor Insulation Resistance

TEST PROCEDURE:
With ignition on, rotate the switch to positions #4, #5 and #6 and push the grounding button while reading ohmmeter.

RESULTS POSSIBLE CAUSES REMEDY

No Fault Found
- Battery LED on
- Alternator LED on
- ABS indicator lamp on
- Ohmmeter reading of more
than 20,000 Ohms
Go to TEST #6

Fault Found
- Battery LED off Wheel speed sensor wiring shorted Test coaxial plug or cable
- Alternator LED off to ground, connector,
- ABS indicator lamp off Coaxial plug or connector shorted Check connecting wiring,
- Ohmmeter reading of less to ground,
than 20,000 Ohms Wheel sensor shorted to ground Replace speed sensor
